1. Overview
The AccuWeather® connector lets you access weather information from AccuWeather directly within Claude, including current conditions, forecasts, alerts, radar, and more. Depending on your request, Claude may also display an interactive AccuWeather weather widget with additional details.
2. Capabilities
Once connected, Claude can pull the following AccuWeather data for locations you ask about. You can search by city name or postal code:
- Current Conditions
- MinuteCast® — minute-by-minute precipitation forecast for the next 60 minutes
Note: MinuteCast® is not available for all locations. - Today/Tonight Forecast
- Hourly Forecast (up to 12 hours)
- Daily Forecast (up to 10 days)
- Government Alerts
- Radar
- Temperature Averages & Records (for any date within the past 14 days, not including today) — includes the climatological normal, last year’s value, and all-time record for high and low temperatures
Note: Some capabilities, including Temperature Averages & Records, return text results rather than an interactive widget.
3. Requirements
Before you connect, make sure you have:
- A Claude account (Free, Pro, Team, or Enterprise)
- Claude for web, desktop, or mobile
You don’t need an AccuWeather account or subscription to use the connector.
4. For Admins: Set Up the Connector for Your Organization
For Team and Enterprise Claude plans, an organization admin may need to enable the AccuWeather® connector before employees can connect it individually.
If you’re an organization admin in Claude, you can enable the AccuWeather® connector for your employees from Organization settings. Go to Libraries > Connectors, select + Add, and then search for AccuWeather.
Once enabled, employees can connect it individually by following the steps below.

6. How to Use the Connector
Once connected, you can ask Claude for AccuWeather information using natural language, including current conditions, forecasts, alerts, or weather trends for a specific location.
For best results, include “AccuWeather” in your message so Claude knows to use the AccuWeather® connector. For example:
- “AccuWeather, what’s the weather today in Seattle?”
- “Will it rain this weekend, AccuWeather?”
- “What is the AccuWeather hourly forecast for tomorrow?”
The first time you use the AccuWeather® connector, Claude may ask for permission to use an AccuWeather tool and provide the location needed to answer your request. Select Allow once to approve only that request, or Always allow to approve future requests automatically.
Claude will use AccuWeather data to provide relevant weather details based on your request. When applicable, an interactive weather widget may also appear to support the answer. Select See More on a widget to view additional details in full screen.
7. Troubleshooting
If you run into an issue using the AccuWeather® connector, check the topics below.
- Why didn’t I get an AccuWeather widget in my Claude response? Many weather requests include an interactive AccuWeather widget along with Claude’s response. For best results, include “AccuWeather” in your question so Claude knows to use the AccuWeather® connector. Some requests, including Temperature Averages & Records, return text only and do not display a widget. See Capabilities for details.
- I have AccuWeather Premium+. Why don’t I see extended forecasts or AccuWeather Alerts™ in Claude? The AccuWeather® connector provides the same forecast range and alert information to all Claude users, regardless of your AccuWeather app or website subscription. Premium+ features such as extended forecast hours and AccuWeather Alerts™ are not currently available through the connector. Premium+ subscribers can access these features directly in the AccuWeather app or by logging into AccuWeather.com.
- Why didn’t Claude use the AccuWeather® connector for my weather question? Claude may not use the AccuWeather® connector for every weather-related question. If your request does not mention “AccuWeather,” or asks for information the connector does not currently support, Claude may respond using other available information instead. To help ensure the AccuWeather® connector is used, include “AccuWeather” in your request. You can also review the Capabilities section above to see what the connector currently supports.
- Why is my MinuteCast® dial empty when it is currently raining? MinuteCast® is not available for all locations. If your location is not supported, Claude may still display a MinuteCast widget, but the MinuteCast dial may appear empty even if rain is currently occurring. The widget text should indicate that MinuteCast is unavailable for the requested location.
If you still need help, feel free to contact our support team at support@accuweather.com.
